Holmwood & Capel Scout Troup
For 10.5 to 14 year olds
Meet each Tuesday at The South Holmwood Scout Centre (Behind the old
South Holmwood School on the A24 going towards Dorking)
From 7.00pm to 9.00pm

There
are noisier, wilder and often wetter games to play.
There are maps and compasses to use and hikes to walk.
There are fires and cooking and camping to enjoy.
And there are some exciting challenges to survive! |

Last term
We spent a long time learning about Emergency Aid but then had
to put our knowledge into practise at a mock up emergency minibus
crash!
We hiked all day and slept the night in bivouacs. It turned out
to be the wettest night of the year!
And we’ve been to Merstham Caves. Scary! |

Our Scout Troop joined about 5000 scouts and Guides from
all over Surrey in June this year at the South of England
Showground for SCOUTABOUT. They camped there for 2 nights
and took part in many of the 200 activities on offer. |

And then there’s our week long Summer Camp during the summer
holidays. |
|
The Programme is a seamless progression of training, activities and
awards for young people aged 6 to 25. The Programme is delivered in
five age groups, called Sections.
Beaver Scouts: 6-8 years
Cub Scouts: 8-10½ years
Scouts: 10½-14 years
Explorer Scouts: 14-18 years
Scout Network: 18-25 years
